Very strong current

Went to Pulau Bai like usual from 8.00am to 3.30pm. We were disturbed by the strong current. Used prawn as bait and I managed to land my first selungsong and ikan pisang pisang. I also caught two groupers and an ikan batu. Caught also some gelamas ( croakers ) and oteks. Gave them to my friends. The fish were only my palm size.

Worst record in Pulau Bai

Been to Pulau Bai almost every week for the past one and a half months. I went there again yesterday ( 22nd March 2009 ) with another group of old timers. It was a very bad day for us all. I managed to fish only four groupers and a sha zone/ikan bebolos. Some of us didn't even manage to catch any.

Pulau Bai

Went to Pulau Bai again today with my friends. There were only 7 of us. Used tamban and prawn as baits. Fished from 7.00am to 4.00pm. The current was so strong that it was really hard to fish. I even lost 4 of my mega size sinkers. Anyway, I successfully landed 2 groupers, 1 bebolos and 1 ikan lapih ( the chinese called this fish kaci lap ). Like usual, I also caught a lot of gelamas and otek. Gave the gelamas and otek to my friend. This trip only cost RM21 per person.

Another day in Pulau Bai

Went to Pulau Bai again today with the gang I used to go with. Went to buy 1kg/RM6 prawns in Tanah Merah as bait. Fished from 7.00am to 4.30pm.

Overall, I've got a total of 14 gelamas, 1 stingray, 4 groupers, 2 lepeh, 4 sha zone and 2 sembilang. As for Elysius, he managed to get 34 gelamas, 8 groupers, 1 stingray, 1 lepeh, 3 sha zone, 3 red coloured fish, 3 ikan batu, 1 crab and 1 mayong.2 lepeh, 4 sha zone and 2 sembilang. As for Elysius, he managed to get 34 gelamas, 8 groupers, 1 stingray, 1 lepeh, 3 sha zone, 3 red coloured fish, 3 ikan batu, 1 crab and 1 mayong.

It's time for karuk

The local named this fish ikan karuk but in West Malaysia, it's named ikan puyu. It's a small sized fish. It doesn't give so much fight. Elysius and I went to mile 7 today for karuk hunting. It was fun. We used fresh prawn as bait. Elysius managed to land 4 karuk and as for me, I was only able to catch 2. The pond was full of karuk and it seemed like they were making fun of us by jumping right in front of our eyes so many times.

Pulau Bai again

Went to Pulau Bai again today from 7.00am to 4.30pm. The current was so strong the whole day. Elysius and I caught 33 gelamas and 17 otik. Besides that, I managed to land 4 groupers and Elysius 1.
